Apple is reportedly developing the next generation of iPad Pro models to follow the ones released in 2022, and information about the displays of the upcoming tablets has emerged online. The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models from the tech giant will feature thinner bezels compared to their predecessors, as per details shared by tipster Instant Digital. The company is also rumored to provide an optional matte finish for its iPad Pro models.
Instant Digital revealed that the successors to the 2022 iPad Pro models will come with 7.12mm and 7.08mm bezels for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions, respectively. These bezels are said to be 10 percent and 15 percent smaller than the ones found on the 2022 models. The measurements exclude the flat aluminum edges of the tablets, according to the leaker.
Apple had previously reduced the bezel size on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models introduced in September 2023, and there are indications that this trend might continue with their successors.
In a separate post, Instant Digital mentioned that Apple is preparing to launch its 2024 iPad Pro models in both glossy and matte screen variants. The matte version is expected to have a “haze value” of 29 percent (+/- 4 percent). It remains uncertain whether the matte version will be priced higher than the glossy one.
Recent reports have hinted that Apple is gearing up to release new iPad Pro models featuring OLED screens in the near future. This suggests that we could see the new iPad Pro models, powered by Apple’s latest M3 chips, by the end of March or early April. Additionally, there might be a 2024 iPad Air model running on an M2 chip accompanying these releases.
