HMD a user on social media, has leaked some interesting information about an upcoming HMD smartphone. According to the leak, this new phone, codenamed HMD Tomcat, is expected to be released in July. It seems to draw inspiration from the old Nokia Lumia 920, which had a unique Fabula design and ran on the Microsoft operating system. The leaked images show a boxy design with noticeable bezels, along with a display featuring curved corners and a hole punch cutout for the selfie camera. The phone is showcased in vibrant green, blue, yellow, and pink colors.
As for the specifications, the rumored HMD Tomcat is said to run on Android 14 and sport a full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It might be powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The rear camera setup is expected to include a 108-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a depth sensor. Additionally, there could be a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies.
In terms of other features, the HMD Tomcat is rumored to come with a 4,900mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It may also offer Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm audio jack, NFC connectivity, and dual speakers. The phone is said to support PureView and OZO audio technologies, and it might have an IP67-rated build for water and dust resistance.
In addition to the HMD Tomcat, there are reports suggesting that HMD is working on two other models internally known as HMD Rocky and Nighthawk. According to Nokiamob, the HMD Rocky is expected to feature a 6.5-inch LCD HD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate. Further details about these models are yet to be revealed.
