Upon initial assessment, the NoiseFit Origin smartwatch left a favorable impression, despite encountering minor issues with the precision of certain health sensors and call quality. After a month of thorough usage, I have had the opportunity to explore its features extensively. Essentially, the NoiseFit Origin stands out as an attractive choice, particularly for individuals who prioritize aesthetics and elegance.
Priced at Rs. 6,499 in India, the NoiseFit Origin smartwatch is offered in a single-size variant with the option of two different straps: leather and silicone. It is presented in six distinct color variations: Classic Black, Classic Brown, Jet Black, Midnight Black, Mosaic Blue, and Silver Grey. For the purpose of this review, I had the Mosaic Blue model equipped with a silicone strap. In addition to the smartwatch itself, the package contained a user manual and a magnetic charging cable.
NoiseFit Origin Review Design and Display: A decent offering
Display – 1.46-inch, AMOLED
Case material – Stainless Steel
Ingress Protection – IP68 (up to 3ATM)
The topic of design is often a sensitive matter and highly subjective. Nevertheless, the NoiseFit Origin stands out as one of the more aesthetically pleasing smartwatches in the sub-Rs. 10,000 category. It boasts a circular dial, a stainless steel case, and a rotating crown. Although the rotating crown may not offer the same tactile experience as the digital crown found on an Apple Watch, it serves a practical purpose rather than being purely decorative. All components are conveniently located on the right side of the smartwatch, allowing left-handed individuals like myself to use it comfortably. Additionally, a programmable button on the side adds versatility. Thanks to these features, the smartwatch exudes a subtly premium quality without appearing overly flashy.
You have the option to easily switch straps, as additional strap choices are available for purchase on the manufacturer’s website. The silicone strap that comes with the smartwatch is comfortable, even in the humid weather conditions of Delhi. The back of the NoiseFit Origin contains all the necessary sensors and two metal pins for magnetic charging. Thankfully, these metal pins do not touch the skin, which is a common issue with other smartwatches.
The NoiseFit Origin features a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, and an always-on display function. The display provides a sharp viewing experience with vibrant colors and sufficient brightness levels, although it lacks an auto-brightness setting. Despite the relatively thick bezel, it is slightly raised, which exposes the glass to everyday wear and tear. However, no scratches were observed during the review period. In terms of durability, it is IP68-rated and offers up to 3 ATM water resistance, proving its effectiveness in protecting the smartwatch from sweat and heavy rain.
NoiseFit Origin Review Performance: Promising
- Processor – EN1
- Software – Nebula UI
- Battery – 300mAh
The NoiseFit Origin by Noise introduces two new technologies: the EN1 processor, ensuring swift performance, and Nebula UI, boasting more features than its other, albeit less premium counterparts. The user experience is generally seamless, with minimal lag observed.
Similar to other smartwatches, the NoiseFit Origin offers various gestures such as Raise to Wake and Cover to Sleep. Swiping right displays health monitoring charts, swiping down reveals notifications, and swiping up opens the quick action window. While most sections are user-friendly, the notification panel may require some adjustments due to potential difficulty in managing multiple notifications. Additionally, gestures for muting calls and capturing photos with wrist movement function quite effectively.
There are numerous health and fitness tracking options available, including step tracking, 24/7 heart rate and SpO2 monitoring. These features are now even found in budget smartwatches. While step tracking is generally accurate, heart rate and SpO2 monitoring can be inconsistent. It’s important for the smartwatch to have a GPS and accelerometer. During the review period, I found Rapid Health to be one of the most useful features. It allows for monitoring multiple health metrics with a single tap.
Bluetooth calling functions well indoors, but lacks background noise suppression outdoors. Additionally, the smartwatch allows for attending WhatsApp calls, but does not display the contact name.
Pairing the NoiseFit Origin with a smartphone is simple, even for iPhone users. The NoiseFit app on the App Store allows users to customize watch faces, enable Bluetooth calls, monitor health metrics, and set SOS contacts. The Step Streak feature encourages wearers to reach their step goal and earn rewards.
The smartwatch promises up to seven days of battery life, and it nearly achieves that, lasting six days on a single charge with AOD off. However, with AOD on, the battery life decreases to just two days. The charging cable attaches magnetically to the back of the smartwatch and can fully charge it within two hours. However, the charger easily slides off with a slight shift, so it’s important to carefully plug in the watch at night for a full charge in the morning.
