The highly anticipated Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, the successor to last year’s Mix Fold 3, is set to make its debut soon. Although an official confirmation is yet to be made, leaked specifications of this upcoming book-style foldable phone have surfaced online. It is rumored that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and will boast a quad-camera system featuring a 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 sensor. It is expected that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will remain exclusive to the Chinese market.
Recently, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 was discovered in a database with the model number “24072PX77C” and the codename “goku.” Internally, it is referred to as “N18.” Reports suggest that the device will be equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is anticipated to sport a quad-camera setup. The highlight of this camera system could be the 1/1.55-inch 50-megapixel Omnivision “Light Hunter 800” sensor, which was previously used in the Redmi K70 Pro by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. It is also speculated that the rumored Xiaomi Mix Flip will feature the same OmniVision sensor.
The Mix Fold 4 from Xiaomi is expected to feature a 60-megapixel OV60A sensor and a 13-megapixel OV13B sensor with a 1/3-inch sensor size, along with 2x optical zoom. In comparison, the Mix Fold 3 from last year had a 3.2x telephoto camera. Additionally, the upcoming model may include a 10-megapixel S5K3K1 sensor from Samsung with support for 5x optical zoom.
Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 4 is rumored to come with a 16-megapixel OV16F selfie camera on both the inner and cover screens, offering improved screen resolution compared to its predecessor. Reports suggest that this new foldable phone will be exclusive to the Chinese market. On the other hand, the anticipated Mix Flip is expected to be available in China and global markets, excluding India and Japan.
Rumors indicate that Xiaomi will unveil the Mix Fold 4 in August, aligning with the launch timeline of previous models like the Mix Fold 3 in August 2023. The current generation of this book-style foldable device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and boasts four Leica-branded rear cameras.
